PopupSunday-header2015

Something to do since we’ve postponed the Block Party. Cynthia Deis of Ornamentea and Glenwood-Brooklyn mentioned this on NextDoor and since shopping is easier to do in inclement weather than picnicking, consider showing up and saying “Hi!” to the neighbors and have a beer.

Friends- the season for outdoor markets is up us!
Pop-Up Sunday Vintage Market is starting up later this month on April 26th. Held on the 4th Sunday of each month, April – November, this outdoor market has some great vintage vendors with decor, lighting, furniture and more for your home and life. There are also food trucks, vintage vinyl records and, TA DA! BEER! Yes, each month we partner with a local brewery to have a beer you’ll love. All the beer is donated and any money you give for your beer goes directly to a local charity.

Raleigh Downtown Living Advocates

The DLA is a citizen group, focused on issues of interest to residents of Downtown Raleigh. The group was formed in February of 2009 by a group of residents motivated by a desire to lend their voices to shaping the growth and character of Downtown Raleigh.
Our mission is to be an organized voice for Downtown residents, working together with city agencies, concerned institutions and local businesses in supporting balanced and sustainable growth for Raleigh.

We are people who live, work or play in the Downtown area and share a passion for our city. Our intention is to play an active role in helping our Downtown neighborhoods be the most livable and attractive they can be, both for us and future residents.

Benefits of becoming a member include creating fellowship with neighbors, sustaining the organization as a force in the shaping of downtown redevelopment, and establishing the DLA presence in the broader community.

And membership is free. DLA has a monthly mixer, held at a different downtown food and drink establishment each time.

We’ll have the DLA Monthly Mixers on our Events Calendar here as well.

We are kicking off a new group in the neighborhood designed just for the women in the neighborhood to meet each other, get together, and build a stronger community. We’ll have monthly get togethers that will give us an opportunity to partake in activities that we want to do, but that our male counterparts may not indulge us in! Ideas include Wine & Design, facial parties, and the like.

We’ll be having a kick off party on Thursday, July 10th at 6:30 pm at C.Grace Cocktail Bar. We’d love for as many ladies from the neighborhood to come as possible, as we’ll use this initial gathering to map out some ideas for what group members would like to get out of the group and to develop a list of outings and activities that we can begin planning.

We look forward to seeing everyone there, and please pass along to your friends and neighbors!
