HGBNA meeting May 19 2015

Don’t forget! Your neighborhood association is back to having monthly general meetings on the third Tuesday of every month, and the next one is on Tuesday May 19, 2015.

If you’d like to see a particular issue addressed, or want to bring up a topic, let Rachel know via the comment form or the HGBNA Forum email list.

We should hear about the status of the Glenwood Av. median refurbishment project, our Block Party coming up in June, and of course, zoning… so plan to be there. We may have a pilot plan to help those with children attend the meetings, look out for that notice.

Where: Jenkins United Methodist Church, 725 North Boylan Av., Raleigh
Time: 6:30 pm

If you’d like to see beautification, crosswalks and more, please join the short-term committee to see this through.

Please join us at our next open meeting on Tuesday, May 19 at 6:30 at Jenkins Church.

Yay! Congrats HGBNA!

Thanks to all the great folks who turned out for the April meeting (and great to meet all the new folks), it was a bit difficult to get everything covered, as a couple of the topics are very complex, but as more and more folks attend and learn what’s currently happening in our ‘hood, this should get easier. Next month, everyone that attended the last meeting try to get one more neighbor to come along to the May 19th meeting! Let’s fill the room.

We’ll publish minutes from the April meeting in this post when they are compiled.

This Tuesday, March 17, will be the first meeting of HGBNA in 2015, and this year we will revitalize our neighborhood association. We’ll take the opportunity to talk about expanding the leadership team, the teardowns happening in our neighborhood, and other issues..

Historic Glenwood-Brooklyn Neighborhood Association
Your neighborhood is looking for people to get involved, either in a leadership position or as an engaged resident of Glenwood-Brooklyn. Our goal is to have a voice in the building/redevelopment of our neighborhood, and get some improvements in some areas. The best way to do that is via the neighborhood association.

Organized, we can get our concerns in front of the pertinent city groups and commissions. We hope to see you on Tuesday, if you cannot make it, but still wish to consider participating in a leadership or other role (or know of others who would), please do reply.

Leadership roles to be filled:
Officers: VP Communications, VP Committees, Treasurer
Committees: Social, Community Improvements,, Community Affairs, Tour of Homes

There will be monthly meetings on the third Tuesday of the month, with other meetings as needed to deal with situations as they arise.
